Are there something wrong with my eyes/vision?!

Are there something wrong with my eyes/vision?

I can see colors pretty well, am not color blind. (although navy colors look black to me, as well as dark maroon looks black) But i have noticed recently that when i look at an object the color seems very dark or a completely different color from what it is, but if i stare directly at the object for a moment, it turns the right color.

It's really weird, i thought i was just tired or something at first, but its been going on for a while now.
Is this actually a disease? Do i need glasses? Any help is appriciated please and thanks.

p.s I will probably go to an eye doctor, but i just wanted to see if there was anyone who could help me here at home. Maybe if they had a story of their own that could help. thanks again

Not being a doctor But I am An Ophthalmic Tech. If you came to where I work I would take a vision test and color test ans also check your eyes for cataracts.(depends on your age and medications how they form) But most of all I would dilate your pupils. It sounds like a posible retinal defecit. It could be Circulation Posibly a hereditory disorder.
I would advise an eye eam by an OPHTHALMOLOGIST who would be an MD not an OPTOMOTRIST who is not an MD. There is a big difference between the two Drs if you actually have a problem.
