What is the most proper way to take out contact lenses from the eyes?!

Question:

What is the most proper way to take out contact lenses from the eyes?

And how did you take it out?

Answers:

Wash your hands FIRST -- then with a dry finger, pull outer corner of eye to the side, tightening the upper lid. When you blink, the upper lid should get a 'grip' on the edge of the lens and flick it out. Add some moisture to your eye first if the suction of the lens is really uncomfortable and it may help ease a displaced lens (it might be UP under the eye lid in a hard-to-reach spot). Your optical specialist may also have a small appliance he can sell you -- it is a small suction tip which grabs the lens so you can lift it away from the eye. Don't wait if you are having serious problems with removing it though. The more you 'tinker' with it, the more likely you are to ruin the lens or scratch your cornea. Just DROP IN at your specialist's office -- they will not let you suffer and will see you right away and remove it for you. Ask for the technician to give you some refresher instruction and PRACTICE right there in the office removing it again before you leave. You deserve full peace of mind for future events. Good luck!!
