my eye is like reddish-pinkish, and it tears a lot. my teacher thought that i was crying. so she sent me to the nurse, and the nurse told me to put ice on it. it helped until the ice left my eye. when i got home i realized that my eye was swollen. i took out my contact thinking that it was causing me pain. i used the visine stuff and nothing really helped. what should i do, and what is causing me pain?

If it is one eye it may be contact lens related. Possible causes can be an infection in just that eye, a small rip in the contact lens that scratched your eye, or a lens that does not fit correctly. See whoever fit you with the contact lens so that they can examine the eye using a microscope. Some of the infectious causes can be very, very serious and cause a great deal of discomfort.
