Will contacts be able to repair my vison over time?!
Question:
Will contacts be able to repair my vison over time?
I am nearsighted and my vision is pretty bad. I've been wearing contacts for around a year now. Can I expect to see any improvements in my sight in the near future or is laser surgery the only hope?
Answers:
contacts can not improve your natural vision (there is an exception)
the only option is lasik or some sort of laser surgery.
although; you may want to check into CRT(corneal refractive therapy) This is the exception. With CRT you wear a contact that is similar to a gas permeable contact at night. You sleep in the contact at night and if all goes well, you don't need correction during the day. I have actually seen patients who can go 2 to 3 nights without the CRT lenses before they have to sleep in them again. It is expensive though. But also a good alternative to laser surgery. Once you have laser there is no going back and it's not 100% guaranteed. With CRT, you can stop wearing them and allow your eyes to go back to their pre CRT state.
