Question:

Answers:
Donor Corneal Tissue is attached to recipient corneal tissue via nylon 10-0 sutures, which are way thinner than the usual human hair. Needless to say, these sutures are quite fragile. Depending on the type of suturing done by your physician (interrupted or continuous) the effect of a cut suture may have DISASTROUS effects on your surgery. Bottom line is, if a suture is popped, wound integrity might be compromised and the donor tissue might get compromised too.
Sexual intercouse does raise blood pressure which in turn also raises intra-ocular (eye) pressure which amy result in a ruptures suture, loss of wound integrity, and so on...
In general, I ask my patients to avoid all forms of strenous activity for around 3 months. You've waited long enough for the cornea, I guess you could wait a few months to have sex.
And as always, ask your eye doctor to explain further, I'm sure she/he will be glad to do so.
