Would wearing sunglasses while driving at night have any effects on my driving?!

Question:

Would wearing sunglasses while driving at night have any effects on my driving?

if so, how much effect will it have? do many people do it? what will happen if i do? will i get pulled over?

Answers:

not many people do it. It can be a form of reckless driving if you happen to be involved in an accident. It has a lot of effect on your ability to see. Headlights at night only illuminate approximately 10% of what we can normally see through the day.... darkening that seems dangerous...

As so far as the physical part of you driving... You will not see obstacles as quickly or as accurately as someone without sunglasses. Whether its a stopsign in the distance, a cardboard box on the ground, or wildlife in the road.

Obstructing your vision of the road, to the best of my PD knowledge, is a misdemeanor offense.... but still means you get summonsed to court if not arrested, fines legal fees....

Hitting an object, like a vehicle you didn't see pulling out of a side street.... felony homocide..... your freedom... your life... your loved one's peace of mind....

Thats not a risk I'm willing to take, and I hope you consider your safety and the safety of others before you embark on your next journey.
