A sty or an eye lid mass can be one of several disease entities. But most commonly, it can be a hordeolum (which is red and painful to touch) or a chalazion (hard, not red and not painful to touch). Most of the remedies previously mentioned will addressa hordeolum, but based on your question details, I'm thinking its a chalazion and not a hordeolum.
A hordeolum will not persist for more than 2 weeks. A chalazion on the other hand, can persist for months.
Treatment for a chalazion is surgical. After your lid is properly anesthesized, a very small (2-3mm) incsion is made on the conjunctival side of your lid (the inside) and the material which produces the lid mass is scooped out with a currette. No sutures are needed and it can be done at a doctor's clinic.
the BEST thing you can do now is to go to an ophthalmologist and have yourself properly evaluated and treated accordingly.
