To those who have had lasik eye surgery...?!

Question:

To those who have had lasik eye surgery...?

Did you like the results of the procedure?
Are you knocked out, or are you still awake?
Also, do you feel and/or see anything?

I have this phobia of things being in or around my eyes and I flinch like crazy when anything comes near my eyes. I have had glasses for over 10 years and every year I have to go and get a stronger perscription. It's getting fustrated and now that i'm changing, I would like to no longer wear glasses.

Answers:

I loved the outcome - PRK was not an answer for me, my sight was so bad they said they could do a prk, but it would only make me less blind... my vision before correction was 20/2000 in my good eye and 20/4000 in my right (yes, that is right twenty/two thousand and twenty/four thousand) I have a phobia on eyes, you see a red light that they ask you to look at but you dont feel anything and they give you a xanax before the surgery so you dont freak out. I had lasik 7 years ago and it took me to 20/20... currently i am at 20/35 but that is to be expected with additional age and my own medical conditions... they told me to begin with that since they couldnt ever figure out why my eyes were so bad that they couldnt predict how long my eyes would be 20/20... but I am very happy with my wire frames instead of the coke bottles AND the magnifying glass that I had when I was 25
