Why does eye color change over time?!

Question:

Why does eye color change over time?

I was told that I had bright blue eyes as an infant, and now i have green/hazel eyes. What is the explanation of this?

Answers:

As an infant, your eyes hadn't yet developed melanin, the same pigment that we have in our skin. The blue color results from an absence of melanin. As you grew, your eyes started to produce the pigment.
