Question about contacts?!

Question about contacts?

Hi. I'm 14 and I want to get contacts really badly because-
1) I don't do too many physical things, but I always seem to get hit in the glasses and that sometimes really hurts, and most of the time they get bent up, and I have to fix and fix them over and over again.
2) I'm a fan of those thick headbands, and I'm not really able to wear them because they go behind your ear, and they bump into the back of your glasses.

I've tried to talk to my parents, but they say I'm too young for contacts.

Is it true that I'm too young?
Is it really such a hassle?

first of all, no, u are not too young. i got contacts when i was 12 and i know two people that got theirs when they were in 4th grade with is like 9 or 10

maybe really really talk to your parents. tell them y u want them and the good things that will come out (u can do more physical sports, wear headbands...) and make sure to tell them that you are responsible in taking care of them

also, some research could be done on ur part or ur parents. research the web and look at different contacts. go to ur eye doctor and try them on! see if u can wear contacts.

do persuade them that contacts aren't a bad thing. after all, they do want what's best for your eyes!!! (i really recommend some research and talk to the doctor)

PS. i'd like to correct someone on this: it is not possible for contacts to roll to the back of your eyes. i repeat: NOT POSSIBLE. it's just a myth. (got that from the eye doctors). but i do not recommend sleeping with them for the whole night. but for naps, i think it's ok since i've done it for naps
