Info on splittling eyes apart?!
Question:
Info on splittling eyes apart?
My optometrist said I have the rare ability of splitting my eyes apart, the opposite of crossing them. I'd like to read more info about it, like how many people can do this and such, but I don't know what to search for. Anyone know anybody who can do this? I found that it freaks a lot of people out, lol. Any info would be appreciated. I can post a pic if anyone is curious.

Answers:
Eyes turning inward towards your nose is called ESOTROPIA while eyes turning outward is called EXOTROPIA. If you want to read further about your condition,
try searching for "intermittent exotropia" or "voluntary exotropia".
I have to admit that I have yet to see a patient who can voluntarily move BOTH of their outward.
You might also want to consult a strabismus (eye motility disorder) specialist. They would know if this is actually rare.
