My eyesight?!

Question:

My eyesight?

I work at a computer all day and should wear contact lenses but they cost me so much i don't realy bother as my eyesight isn't that bad.

I was just told that the company i work for is supposed to pay for my eye tests but i haven't a clue.

Does anyone know the ins and outs of this?

Answers:

Your company is legally obliged to pay for a sight test for you once a year, if your job involves 'regular VDU use'. Many companies give their employees 'Accor Eyecare Vouchers', though some just reimburse you when you give them the receipt.

Regarding specs, they must also pay for your glasses, but only of you need them JUST for computer use and nothing else. Companies often voluntarily also contribute towards varificals, if they are required. They only have to pay the minimum cost of a pair of specs, if you want designer frames etc, you have to pay the extra. They wont pay for contact lenses.

Hope that made sense!
