What could cause an 8 yr old to have sick headaches all the time?

My daughter is 8 and every day she comes home with a sick headache to the point she is vomiting and wants to lay down. I thought at first it was the heat at school with her playing and all. But she has even been doing this through the winter too, so i ruled out the heat. I am going to have her eyes checked on the 16th . If any one knows of another cause for this please let me know.

also for those hating on me this is not like everyday for for the past yr. it is only when she comes home from school. and some weeks she does just fine. and others she is very sick. it comes and goes and i have taken her to the doctor and he said it is just childhood growing up. but i think something else should be done. actually we have been to the doctor several times with the same result. the last time we went he said we would monitor her and then if nothing changes we should get a cat scan. so dont hate on me for asking for your help.

It sounds like migraines. Unfortunately, there is a lot of bias in medicine, thinking that kids don't get headaches. I remember reading a medical reference book that said that when children say they have headaches, they are faking it to get attention. But recently there have been studies that showed that many children do indeed have problematic headaches.

I would strongly suggest getting a second opinion. Trust your instincts. It definitely sounds like migraines, with the vomiting and it happening off and on.
