Recent vision problem?!

Question:

Recent vision problem?

Recently, at work, i was shutting down all the lights in my shop and i use the flash on my camera phone to help me see in the dark. only last night a noticed that when i turned off the lights and moved the phone back and fourth it seemed like the light was moving in slow motion. The only was i can describe it is if you have a mouse cursor on your computer and you turn the "tracking" function on. Its not double vision, but its like and echo of light. It seems to only really happen in dark lighting or if i have a flash light. I have never had this problem before, does anyone know what the hell this is?

Answers:

The only thing I can think of is a form of delay in dark-light adaptation. This would be similar to the fact that most people usually have difficulty seeing inside a theater when coming in from a bright sun-lit afternoon or when you're momentarily blinded by a very bright flash.

However, these normal dark-light adaptation delays only occur with very bright light sources or extremes of illumination conditions. It should not normally happen with just a small light source.

It's hard to say what it is, but it might be some form of vitamin A deficiency which usually manifests as a dark-light adaptation delay.

You should see an ophthalmologist, neuro-ophthalmologist or a retina specialist, so you can be evaluated properly.
