Question: My right eye is: 8.4/14.4 -0.50 -0.75 x180
My left eye is: 8.4/14.4 -0.00 -1.25 x020
I'm just interested to know what that means in regular people terms! :)

the 8.4 is referring to the base curve (steepness) of the lens.
the 14.4 is the diameter of the lens in mm's.
as per your right eye you need minor distance correction (-0.50) and you have a minor astigmatism (-0.75) at axis 180.
in your left eye you need no correction for distance or near; however you do have astigmatism correction (-1.25) at axis 20.
