Reactive conjunctivitis - chemical or irritant conjunctivitis
Some people are very susceptible to chemicals in swimming pools or to smoke or fumes and this can cause an irritation of the conjunctiva with discomfort, redness and watering. In such cases these irritants should be avoided.
However there are bacteria in farts so i guess you could get it that way.

Indeed, it can be caught by bad hygiene. But there are many more reasons. I think that getting bacterical eye infections like in Knocked Up is highly unlikely.
uh, no. if someone has it and touches somethign and then you touch it and then rub your eye you get it. best thing to do is wash your hands regularly and don't touch your eyes unless you have just washed your hands or used hand sanitizer.
so feel free to fart on each others pillows.
if they get into your eye, then i'm sure it is quite possible...
Usually it's gotten through smoking cannabis, although smoke and other particulate matter can irritate the conjuctiva and cause reddening, the characteristic appearance of pinkeye.
It's possible that farting could also do it, but it seems REALLY REALLY unlikely.

Usually passed through not washing hands, then touch their eyes, using the same towel after someone has had it, same wash cloth.
