I had this surgery done.

no you can't drive immediately after, but usually you are okay to drive by the next day.

and actually, most places that offer Lasic surgery have a free consultation option.
They will check your eyes out (just like a regular eye exam), and tell you if you are a good candidate, what laser they would use, and how much it costs.
They will also tell you the risks involved and what you can do afterwards.

The different lasers cost different amounts of money, mine cost 2100 for both eyes, with a lifetime guarantee. So if my eyes ever mess up again, they'll fix it for no charge.

after care,
they made me wear sunglasses to bed to make sure I didn't rub my eye in my sleep, and gave my eye drops that had to go in a few times a day to prevent infection (they said that it doesn't happen often, but it's better to prevent an infection than treat it).

Seriously though, the best advice you can get will be to go to a laser eye center for a free consultation. They can answer all of your questions there and give you a price.

But it truly is the best thing I've ever done for myself

I am not a professional eye surgeon but I had the procedure done. You cannot drive afterwards because your vision is a little blurry plus they give you a mild sedative prior to the surgery so you will be too groggy to drive and they tell you to bring someone with you to take you home afterwards. The prices vary depending on the clinic you go to, but it will likely cost at least $1,000...worth every penny in my opinion. It literally only takes about 10 or 15 minutes from start to finish and you will feel absolutely no pain whatsoever. Once the procedure is done the clinic will give you a package with prescription eye drops and tell you when to put them in throughout the day and for how long and your recovery should take about 4 or 5 days...that is so your eyes adjust but you can still walk around and function without your glasses immediately after.

To know everything, I'd recomend you actually go into the surgeons office and have a consultation with them.

As for the basics:
Go in with realistic expectations. If your vision equates to 20/90000, dont expect to come out with 20/20. 20/30 or 20/40 is more likely.
As for the cost, that varies on where you go. I'd recomment a surgeon who has been in the business for a while, not someone straight out of med school. These are your eyes, and discount houses are just that. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!
I'd especially recomend talking to a surgeon who speciallizes in corneal surguries - as that is what they're playing with.

After surgury care? Yes you can drive right after. Any remotely decent surgeon is going to give you these little things that look like swim goggles. They are to protect your eyes when you sleep. After the surgury, it should take about 10 days for your eyes and corneas to heal 100%. I would also very strongly recomend getting a pair of polarized sun glasses to help give your eyes just a bit more protection.

Yes and I am not sure why you are only counting on a serge on to answer yout questions.

I happen to be a recepient of such surgery and I can tell you point blank.
I f you need the surgery they will preform it but if you not need the surgery they will also preform it
If you are near sited please forget aout having surgery... I did it and now I can only see the street names from afar and the billboards... I can no longer see close...
Do you realize what I have done to my eyes...Regrets I have many.
