I have an eye condition,but i can't remember what it is...help?!


Question: my last two visits to the optometrist,i was enlightened to know that i'm slowly suffering from an eye condition where my eye pigment in the iris is slowly leaking into my cornea,thus i sometimes get a "halo" effect with lights during the nighttime...i hate driving at night because i can't see much and the stuff i do see,mostly head and street lights are blurry and i fear for my life and especially those around me..what is it and is there a cure??..any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

It is my understanding that fluid normally slowly leaks into the endothelial layer of the cornea, but that the endothelial pump pushes it back out. If the endothelial pump does not function, the fluid cannot be pumped out.

Might you be referring to Fuchs endothelial dystrophy? It is my understand as well that this is usually limited to older folks. You may want to do some searches regarding corneal endothelial dysfunction. You can also, of course, contact your optometrist for your diagnosis.

I too get bad "halo" effects at nighttime, but my problem is congenital cataracts.
