I would like glasses... but ....?!

Question: Hiya! Merry Christmas :)
Right, I would like glasses, infact, I'd love glasses, I went to the optitions, and I was told my eyes are perfect, so I can't have them.
A friend was saying that I could buy glasses that don't actually effect your vision - improve or worsen.
Is that true? If it is, where can I buy these 'glasses' from?

Any optician will be happy to make glasses for you with plano prescription. Just ask.

You will have to pay for them yourself as neither public nor private insurance will pay for plano.

Ask in your opticians if its true.
You shouldn't get glasses that can affect your vision though if you dont need them.
I wear glasses, but really wish I didnt .. :(

have a good christmas =]

hey that happened to me and i bought my glasses from superdrug and they don't even have a lens in them.
good luck!

Merry Christmas to you too!! Yes its true, you can just buy the frames, the lenses in them are just plastic, so it wont affect your vision either way.

Happy holidays to you too, m'dear. I'm not sure about those types of glasses, but I do see the ones at the drug store (they're magnifying-type glasses...you don't want those!) that most folks get. If you have perfect vision, you're blessed 'cause this four-eyed diva is sooo jealous (just kidding). There are some fashionable frames, though. Check with your optician as well. Be blessed and forever wonderful! TA TA!

I don't know how true this is but I was told that the glass that comes with frames is not ground to a person's vision and therefore may distort what you see, however you are free to buy a pair of frames from "anyplace" and knock out the glass from inside them and wear them that way, or even buy a pair of sunglasses. These days with the sun getting hotter and UV rays getting stronger there's nothing wrong with buying a pair of sunglasses to wear.

You can buy glasses from your optician with plain lenses that don't effect your vision. If you're young and would normally get them free or discounted, you would have to pay full price for them. Or you could buy just the frame without any lenses at all.

They definitely make them - that's what people who've had laser surgery wear for a couple of days after the op.
