How to prevent Retinal Detachment?!

if you have a retinal tear or degeneration that is predisposing to detachment , get the prophylactic treatment by laser .
if you are highly myope , check your eyes regularly for the high chance of developing retinal degeneration

my dad had this in both eyes and the doctor said it's a hereditary condition.

I would try and stay away from getting punched in the head. A few boxers have detached retinas.

There really isn't anything you can do. I had detached retinas in both eyes at once. The doctor said it could be from the fact that I am so nearsighted. An injury can also cause a retina to detach as well as a disease of the eye. If it's going to happen it's going to happen. Have annual eye checkups with an Opthamologist and see one immediatly if you have any change in vision.
