I just got bifocal contacts. The dominant eye is for distance and the other eye !

Question: How long will it take before I can see? Is it normal to get headaches? Nausea? How will I know if these are the right power or if I need to try a different pair?

Your eyes are adjusting to the change in vision. It could take a week or so to adjust. Some people cannot have monovision contacts, so if you don't start feeling better in a few weeks, you should talk to your doctor.

That sounds like it would make me feel sick. I have bifocal contacts where both eyes have both prescriptions. The outside of the lens is for reading and the inside for distance. I felt slightly "off" for the first day or so with them (not sick though) and then they were fine. It took me much longer to get used to my bifocal glasses. If these don't work for you, maybe you can try the kind I have. Good luck.
