My best,
Hope

LASIK is a corrective procedure where a thin flap on your cornea is created, lifted and a measured amount of tissue underneath is removed with a laser. The flap is then put back in place. Usually a soft contact lens is worn for about a week until the flap has healed a bit. Like all refractive surgery procedures, it is only done on adult eyes (usually over 23 years of age) and only after 2 years of stable refractive error. It is a permanent correction and reasonably safe if you are a candidate. Most laser centers do free screenings to find out if it's appropriate for you. I always recommend a corneal specialist, usually one attached to a University or general practice. I do not recommend the "Mall" laser centers where they advertise cheap prices and do assembly line type surgeries. But again, you don't want to have any type of procedure done until you're a bit older.

LASIK is an eye surgery, definitely there are risks in any operation, but there have been numerous side effects in the first type of LASIK operation, which involves cutting the eye cornea and lifting it, but the newer version of LASIK changed that and instead of cutting it, they insert a sort of probe to improve the eye's vision and claims to have much lesser risks than the previous version. But anyway, LASIK can only correct certain eye defects like shortsightedness and myopia etc., I'm not sure if it can correct astigmatism. The price of LASIK surgery is sure to cost a few thousand dollars, but it's affordable. It's up to you if you want to take the operation, so good luck.
