Interesting question!

If you are standing at an equal distance from the mirror as you are from the monitor then the monitor would do more straining.

When you look into a mirror, the image is actually double the distance between you and the mirror, away from you. Eg if you are 40cm from the mirror, the image is 80cm away. The further something is away from the eyes, the less focussing effort required to see it!

Hahaha, I would say that they are equally worse because if you strain your eyes that works the muscles and if you look at the mirror too long the your eyes could screw up. Idk. And if you are obsessed with what you look like then that is bad for your eyes.
