Can you where contacts in the shower?!

Question: I found out when I wore my contacts in the shower it was like they got suctioned on to my eyes and dried them out. Its harder to get them off, but if you don't find that a problem then you should be okay.

Yes

Yes but they might get stuck under your eyelids be careful!

Yeah, but it makes my contacts pretty dry. I can't not wear them in the shower though, cuz I can't see, lol.

Yes you can and they do get dried out but you can just use a little saline solution right on your eyes and they are all better.

I like the saline solution better then the eye drops. Eye drops bother my eyes.

absolutely not - if you dont believe me - hold one of your contacts under the shower water on your finger and watch what happens to it - it will shrivel up and chane shape - you dont want that to happen on your eyeball.

Yo, they're already wet.

Well i were them a couple of times in the shower they kind of get dried and stuck onto my pupil and then it is too hard 2 take them out. I would say if u r too sensitive then dunt wear them but if your okay than try them you wont loose anything!!!! : )

yes it is perfectly fine to do that

Many people wear ther lenses into the shower but fewer wear them out.

Whenever I've done this (only several times) my lenses didn't dry out at all. But, you have to be careful to not get the water in your eyes because tap water contains tons of bacteria. Also, be careful not to rub your eyes.

You can, but you shouldn't. Tap water is bad for contacts because it has minerals in it that can leave little rust spots on your contacts if they get enlodged in the contact and you can get eye infections that way too, unlikely but possible.

Plus tap water is not the same PH as your eye so it sucks the water out of the contact causing it to shrink some and form a suction on your eye. If you tried to take it off right after you got out of the shower you could give yourself a scratch on your eye. And you can loose your contact down the drain if water gets in your eyes.

read the following paragraph from this report about AK a very dangerous eye infection http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles...
"AK primarily affects otherwise healthy people who wear soft contact lenses, and around 85 per cent of infections are in people who wear them; even if they scrupulously follow the recommended regime for contact lens hygiene. However there is an increased risk of getting AK if you don't clean and disinfect your soft lenses properly (for instance by using tap water), or leave them in when you swim, use hot tubs or shower."
