Is Laser eye surgery safe please tell of experiences?!

Question: Have they solved the night vision problem?

Answers: Have they solved the night vision problem?

Hi- I had vision correction surgery in 1994 (ok, I'm old) At the time it wasn't Lasic, which lifts the cornea before reshaping the eyeball with a laser; it was called RK or radial keratotamy. Both procedures use a laser. I have been glasses-free ever since. I had to return to the eye doctor the day after the surgery to be sure I wasn't developing an infection, but after those 2 days I was finished. P.S. It didn't really hurt, but made my eyes water for a day or 2.
I had more night halos with contacts than with the Laser. Just give it adequate healing time

It's a relatively safe procedure, it's important to go to the physician with the best technology and equipment. Many people I know have had the surgery and have never regretted it.

I just answered a similar question - I had IntraLasik 10 days ago and love it. I do have some halo's right now with night vision because I am still healing. This should clear up over time. If I always have some minor distortion, it shouldn't be bad as what I have now looks similar to what I had if I had on an old pair of contacts. It is not a huge issue, and it should go away according to everything I have read. But, you will have problems at first with night vision. HTH.

For many people, laser eye surgery can correct their vision so they no longer need glasses or contact lenses. Laser eye surgery reshapes the cornea, the clear front part of the eye. This changes its focusing power.

The most common side effects are a halo effect and some glare at night around lights.

The halo effect is an optical effect that is noticed in dim light. As the pupil enlarges, a second faded image is produced by the untreated peripheral cornea. For some patients who have undergone PRK or LASIK, this effect can interfere with night driving.
