Is there a minimal prescription for contacts?!

Question: I'm planning to get contacts, my prescription is -1.50 with .50 cylindrical, can i get them?
I'm afraid that when I went to the optician, they won't let me have one because of my low prescription...

Yes. There are contact lenses with that little of a prescription as well as the high prescriptions. You have a slight astigmatism which most opticians would ignore for contacts (that makes it cheaper and more comfortable for you)...so short story...you're fine.

You can get colored contacts with no prescription, so I'm sure you can get them with a low prescription.

Order them on-line and cut out the middle man!! My son and daughter have been doing this for years now and have saved a bundle!! Of course they have EXTREME corrections, but it shouldn't matter; I am certain they will take your money, too.

You have a legitimate prescription. Most likely the Rx you gave will be added together; -1.50-.50 by the optometrist to give you a spherical contact lens power of -1.75, give or take a .25 diopter.
