Has anyone had LASIK Eye Surgery???!

Question: I am going to have Lasik done tomorrow and I have done my research and all but still feel anxiety. My Dr answered my questions. Has anyone had this procedure ( or know someone who did) and if so how was the outcome??

Yes my daughter had the surgery. She had a little discomfort for the first few hours(but she is a drama queen). The next day she was watching television without her glasses. She said it was the best gift she has ever received.

Sorry to disappoint you but No I have not had this done.

two of my cousins had it.one 30 and one 60(strange family)...............both are very happy with the results

My mother had it done and she is one of the statistics. She had very bad vision and had to have it done two times in both eyes. Now she does have problems driving at night. Not trying to scare you, It doesn't happen that often.

I have had the surgery. I had problems with my near and far vision before surgery and was told the surgery could->
1) Have one eye set for near and one for far
2) Have both set for far
So I had both set for seeing at distance and now I use glasses only for reading.
It is great. I have no significant issues. I also had my astigmatism corrected so that I only have any astigmatism (very little) left in my left eye. The reason they could not correct my astigmatism all the way in my left eye was that some was in the part of my eye that was not operable. So...... the surgery for me was to correct my eyes so I could see distance and the result was I have better than 20/20 vision and very close to 20/15 (meaning I can almost see at 20 feet what a normal person can see at 15 feet).

Also my experience was only some post surgery discomfort with my eyes the day of surgery. So I would strongly recommend having someone drive you to and from the procedure. Good luck with your procedure. :>)

I had Lasik surgery back in 2004. I can see well how with the correction on my eyes. I had not been wearing glasses now, it is so nice not to wake up during the night to find your glasses when you need to got to the bathroom.
Here is information on Lasik

* When I had my surgery my eyes was Burlie for two days, after my eyes got used to the changes I got better seeing thing. Also your sensitive to light the first thing after the surgery. After a while (two days) I got used to the light shining down.
