There is a theory that eyes will "grow into" their visual demands. This theory hasn't been effectively proven or disproven, so your doctor is giving "cautious" advice in an attempt to prevent your daughter from needing stronger glasses later.

The theory of myopia progression goes something like this:
For a "normal" eye to see something at 1 meter, it has to accomodate 1 diopter from its relaxed state. The (again, unproven) theory says that if someone grows up only looking at something 1m from them, then their eyes would grow such that they would be relaxed when looking at a 1m distance (instead of 6 meters, or "optical infinity"), thus this eye has grown 1D nearsighted.
If you put a -1.00D lens in front of this eye to correct that nearsightedness, it must accomodate that extra diopter. So, if the person continues to stare 1m away, the eye would grow an additional 1D nearsighted (total 2D now) and require a -2.00D lens.
And, the cycle continues.

There have been attempts to show this cause & effect, but the results have always been statistically inconclusive. The theory sounds reasonable, so the doctor's advice seems reasonable as well, and this is why he gave it.

In reality, your daughter should wear her glasses "whenever she wants to wear them." If she chooses to wear them all the time, then she *may* accelerate her need for stronger glasses in the future (independent of a natural growth tendency towards being nearsighted), but it's statistically unproven that this is indeed the case, thus shouldn't be much of a concern at all.

well her vision isnt that bad
she just cant see stuff far away
and if shes studyin..etc..they wouldnt need glasses cause theyre close to the object
and i wear glasses/contacts..and if i watch tv /comptuer for a while with them..my eyes start to hurt
or you could just ask the eye docotr...

I would call and ask him to explain it.

It's because her prescription isn't that strong, and since she is still young, there is a chance that her eyes can strength and correct themselves given some time... but if she wears the glasses all day every day, her eyes will adapt to the assistance, and will never have the chance to become stronger on their own. My prescription is about the same as your daughter's, and I only wear my glasses in lecture halls and while driving.

The three activities you mentioned are three that reduce the amount of blinking a person does. A common problem with contacts is dryness. For example, a person blinks over 30% less when using a computer than normally.

myopes see will at near, ie studing, tv, but not at distance, like reading the board or driving

because it might hurt her eyes if she watches tv and on the computer or studying cause i know for my eyes if i put a pear of where you cant see far away it really hurts my eyes
