At 13, you do not qualify unless you are having trouble being corrected with glasses and contacts. Most lasers are approved for persons at lease 18 or 21 years old (depends on specific laser).

For now, besides contact lenses, you could also consider corneal refractive therapy (CRT). This involves wearing special lenses at night that reshape your cornea to eliminate or reduce your dependence on glasses/contacts during the day.

i'm the same way, but i'm 19. typically they don't perform lasik on younger people because your eyes are not finished developing. i went for a consultation and they told me they can't do lasik on my eyes until they stay the same for about 3 years (meaning my vision stops getting worse and levels out some) its pretty expensive too...i think its a few thousand for each eye...

just wait it out with the glasses and contacts...glasses can be fun too, find a cute stylish pair...they really define you

It is something to discuss with your optometrist to see if you are a good candidate after you've thought it over. The price has came down but I am not sure enough to give an estimate.

You might be able to get it soon (in a couple years) but it's probably better to wait until you stop growing.
It should cost between $1400-$2500 per eye in the US. In Japan and the UK you can get it for less, and do some traveling!

Oh yeah, and apparently LASEK is the best (not LASIK) It's safer and works better.

the cost depends on where you live where i live its about 600 and eye (i live in the US) most lasik surgeons will NOT do it until you are about 18 or older just bc you have so much change that is going to be comeing. i do know that they actually take the lens of your eye off and you go completely blind like everything turns black, that could be a bit scary for a 13 year i would just wear my contacts till i was a bit older like 18 then go for a consultation

If you have a strong prescription, you may not be able to be fully corrected and will still need glasses or contacts anyway. People with mild or moderate conditions typically have the best results. Another thing that is often not mentioned in ads for this procedure is that it is more expensive for stronger prescriptions.
