What happens if?!
Question: What happens if I swallowed a small piece of glass. Small as in maybe the size of a poppy seed. I was trying to fix the outer frame of my glasses and being the idiot that I am I was tried evening them out with my teeth. I figured that I could do that because the lenses weren't in. Anyways the other lenses on the other side broke and got in my mouth. Should I see the doctor? Or will I be fine since it was just a small piece? No mean answers, trust me I already feel stupid as it is. Thanks a bunch.

if it was THAT small, you should be fine but if you start experiencing ANY pain in your esophogus or stomach - go see the doctor - more than likely it will pass with no problems.........we have children come in all the time that have swallowed glass, plastic, coins and they usually pass just fine.......
well if you don't feel any pain within 48 your in the clear the stomach will probaly smooth the sharp edges
go see a doctor or else your intestines may be ripped by it.
well im sorry to hear that, but don't worry, if the piece of glass or foriegn body (thats how its will be called) hasent pass the esophagal mucus layer and ur experiencing some iritations u have to consult a endoscopist, and if it passes the esophagus, no matter how small the piece is, its still gna complicate, cus its gna get stuck at the pyloric sphincter and cause some problem, eg, symptom maybe, nausea and vommiting, if it happens to pass the stomach sphincter, then ur intestine are in trouble, hey im not trying to scare u but u know its a glass with sharp endings, so due to the peristaltic movement of the intestine i will rup on its walls and scratchs them, sign of it maybe bleeding in stool, and pain in abdomen. all this signs i mentioned, u may not still have experienced it if the object or the swallowed glass is still lying in the walls of stomach or deudonum. anyway u should not leave it.
you should pass it with no problem. i wouldn't worry.
