your eyballs don't grow, thats why little kids have big eyes. ask your optometrist if your eyes are suitible for them, your eyes may be the wrong shape, contacts aren't for everyone. i can't wear them because one of my eyes has a strange curve and that makes the lens scratch it. i was 13 and 14 when i was trying them (im 15 now).

get disposable ones, your eyes will be thankfull for a fresh lens, the permanent ones get uncomfortable (kinda like never getting new clothes just because you haven't grown out of your old ones, and they are not torn to shreds).
i dont think so both of my best friends got contacts when they were 14 or 13 in 8th grade

You can wear modern contacts at any time. You are about through your growth sysle and unlikely that your eyes will change much. You might consult your optomologist. They will knbow better than anyone else.
I started wearing contacts when I was thirteen and I have had no problems whatsoever. The best brand to go with is Acuvue Oasys in my opinion because they're very light and unnoticable - good for first-time wearers. Even very young eyes can handle contacts - from ages 8-11.
Nope I had mine young :) just get soft lenses, make sure they are the right fit, keep them extremely clean, make sure to always have eye drops and the container just in case, and try not to have long nails it may scratch your eye trying to put them in or take them out.
As long as you follow doctor's instructions and keep your eyes wet, clean, and don't put in torn lenses, you'll be fine. I recommend disposable soft lenses, I have never had an eye infection while using mine.

*edit* and about eye growth posts. YES your eyes most definitely grow. They grow until around the age of 21 (ask any eye doctor. People wanting corrective surgery have to have their eyes *photographed* and then 6months later if there is no change, they can have it). This is why kids have to be fitted for different glasses/lenses once a year or so. The lense, rods, cones, etc all in your eye all grow and change as you get older. If it didn't, we'd all have the vision we had when we were babies, hence the reason babies begin with no color in their eyes and slowly gain color and shape if you watch closely.
An optHamologist is a person who studies diseases associated with eyes, a person considering contacts should be a patient of one, due to the risks involved. They were not totally incorrect. ^^

Side note= Correct spelling is ophthalmologist, which are medical doctors who usually deal with eye surgeries and diseases. Optometrists are usually better at prescribing glasses and contact lenses because they do it every day.
Contact lenses will NOT hurt your eyes as long as you use them properly and do not abuse them.
