What does this eye result mean?!
Question: Sphere O.D -1.5
Sphere O.S. -1.5
Answers: Sphere O.D -1.5
Sphere O.S. -1.5
It does not mean the size of your spheres is 1.5!
It means you are slightly nearsighted, equally in both eyes.
You have no astigmatism and that's why it only says SPH and not CYL after the prescription you wrote.
The - is because it's myopia and not hyperopia, the lenses will be - (minus) and minify things (including your eyes behind them) so they will make everything look smaller instead of magnifying things as reading glasses do. The 1.5 is the number of diopters you need (or glasses strength).
OD is the latin abreviation for right eye , (occulus dexeter) OS for Left eye (occulus sinister) Im not an expert but this appears to be a very simple prescription The Spheres are a form of measurement
OD = right eye
OS= left eye
it just measureing how big the spheres of you eye are. lucky you there the same size!
