Today my mom had eye surgery. The doctor said she had trouble with the anisthea.!
Question: She said she herd most of it and felt most of it and that it hurt. This was not Lasic. She had to get a whole lot of things done like iris repair and a lens put back in place. What should we do about this or is it normal?

what kind of anesthesia was given? local or general? if local, did they just use and eye drop or did they have to inject?
If she was put under general anesthesia, then hearing and feeling it is not normal. but if it was an eye drop anesthesia or and injectable one, then it was possible that she could feel something because either 1. it was wearing out or 2. she perceived touch or pressure as pain. Local anesthesia will eliminate sharp pains such as needles or blades but will not always remove the feeling of getting wet, or being touched. So sometimes, out of the fear of the patient, they imagine being touched by a cotton bud as a blade and they feel pain.
hope this helps.
