Want to wear contacts again...?!

Question: I used to wear contacts daily, but for lthe last ten years or so I've had glasses. I plan on getting an eye exam and probably a new pair of glasses. If I wanted to go back to contacts, what can I expect as far as cost?

I agree with the others in that the cost will depend on what type and what brand you get.

Most contact lenses now are disposables, and you can get either daily, weekly, or monthly disposables. Dailies are quite popular (wear them one day, throw them out at night, and put in a fresh pair the next day!) but obviously, they are more expensive... although they do save on the cost of solution. :)

My contact lenses are meant to last me for 2 years, so they do not cost as much, but there is also the argument that they are not as good for your eyes because they are not as breathable. And, if/when I lose or damage one, it's expensive to replace, because I don't have a backup pair.

I'm not an eye doctor or an expert, but I'd say your best bet would be monthly disposables. Cost depends on brand (I believe they can be anywhere from $15 to $50+ per box).

If your prescription has changed, I would still get glasses as well, because you shouldn't wear contacts for more than 8-10 hours a day and it's good to give your eyes a break once a week or so.

I just got contacts yesterday for the first time and they were about $130.00.

depends what country you live in.

well i have contacts cuz wearin glasses make sum ppl look like geeks. lol but it would cost bout 30 - 40 dollars ines cost 30 dollars for one box

They have probably gone cheaper than what they were 10 years ago (on average $30-120 ). They are also much more comfortable now!

depends what kind you get, and what brand, (focus dailys, ect..)

search around, I got em cheapest at wal-mart. I love contacts, I always hate the feeling of glasses on my face
