Good eye drops for winter dry eyes?!

Question: I have dry red eyes almost every day and it only happens in the winter with forced heat. I don't have any allergies and drink enough water, so can someone recommend some otc drops that I can use that would help?
I don't think it's bad enough to see a doctor, just annoying.
Thank you!

I work as an RN for eye doctors and you cannot believe how many times a day I get this question. The best drops for dry eyes in my opinion is 'Soothe' which you can get at local rite aids, walgreens, walmart. It's a rather milky substance and when you put it in first your vision will be blurred for about thirty seconds but then it will clear so don't panic. All of our patients think we have blinded them when they first put it in!The moisture lasts about 8-10 hours which is better than most of the eye drops out there like visine, tears etc. Those lubricant eye drops simply provide moisture which can evaporate quickly from the cornea (surface) of the eye. But soothe.provides moisture and has an advanced lipid restorative which provides a barrier to tear loss for great relief. These are the main drops we give out at my office. Try it out.

If it is just from the winter dry heat, please just buy some plain saline drops for your eyes. They will lubricate your eyes without putting any chemicals in your eyes you don't need. Repeated use of products like Visine can cause rebound reddness. So stick to the saline drops.

any type of lubricating eye drops that are OTC will help. Refresh liquigel, tears, celluvisc. Preservative free is the best to get if possible. Systane and Aquify are good to

I also have very dry eyes and I have found that taking 2000 mg of good quality fish oil has helped more than anything else I have done. I was miserable with this condition until I found the fish oil. I have tried Restasis, but it seemed to irritate my eyes and I did not like the burning.

Also, fish oil has MANY benefits to your heart and health beyond helping dry eyes.
