If i stop wearing my glasses, would my vision get worse?!

Question: I decided not to wear my glasses anymore, but i'm afraid that if i stop then my vision would get worse. If i don't squint, would my eyes still get worse for not wearing glasses?

actually, ur vision doesn't get worse when u stop wearing glasses.... it gets worse when u DO! bizarre and unheard of? let me explain. glasses are just aids to help u see better. but they don't actually make ur vision better. when u c glasses, ur retina muscles get used to the glasses and therefore start functioning less and less. this is the reason y ppl wid glasses keep getting higher powered ones. cuz glasses makes ur eyesight weaker. if u r interested in making ur vision better, then u shud try eating healthier foods and search up some eye exercises that make ur vision better. trust me, it works! good luck! hope it helps!

even if you dont physically squint, your eyes are still going to be strained which is still going to make them get worse.
i suggest either getting contacts or a pair of stylish glasses you enjoy wearing.

It depends I guess.
If your eyesight isn't all that bad, as in only 100+ degrees, I think it could get better because when I was young, I had 125 degrees but I did not like my glasses and stopped wearing it. And soon, I did not need glasses anymore.
Well, this is just my experience, maybe you can go ask the optician?

Not because you're not wearing the glasses, no.
And wearing them doesn't make your eyes worse either.
(Both myths are in circulation! There *are* a few rare exceptions, but exceptions they are.)

But if you're a teenager there's a good chance the eyes will change anyway. It's a growth thing.
If you need -1.00 at 14, there's every likelihood that you'll need -2.00 at 15, whether or not you used glasses.

There are one or two techniques that may slow this sort of change, but they don't appear to work on everyone.
Simply wearing or not wearing glasses isn't one of them.

yes your eyes will get worse because now that you know u need glasses, when you dont wear them, u believe squinting will help you see better for just that split second. every time u squint, your astigmatism is effected!! high astigmatism is never good.

it depends on your age. if you are a teenager or younger, then yes your vision could get worse. This is the time your eye and brain are coordinating so that you can see well. but if you ignore this learning response and not wear glasses, your brain will think that that is the clearest you can see. if you decide you want to start wearing glasses later, there might not be a good connection between your eye and brain and glasses will not help you anymore. this is what they call lazy eye.

But if you are older and the eye-brain connection has been established, not wearing glasses can do little damage to you vision. you just might get headaches from blurred images. Some people claim that when they stop wearing glasses, their vision gets worse. this is not true. they just feel like it got worse because they were so used to clearer images when they wore glasses.

i hope this helps.

depends on your prescription. are you near or far sighted? glasses DO NOT damage your eye at all. doesnt make them weaker etc. what it does is allow your eyes to "relax" and quit straining to see and allows the lenses to make the image focus on the back of your eye, the retinal and macular area which forms the image you see. sort of like a camera. you have to focus it to get a good picture. Squinting temporarily reshapes your cornea so you make see a little clearer. If your getting headaches or your eyes hurt where the glasses. if you cant see to drive, watch a movie, read or whatever, wear the glasses. Find a frame style that you love and talk with your eye doctor
