When you first got contact lenses...?!

Question: How long did your eyes stay feeling so dry? I wore eyeglasses for 24 years so I imagien I am just more sensitive to any breeze as my eyes have been protected for so long. But how long did it take for your eyes to stop feeling so dry? I found a rewetting solution that helps a lot after trying several kinds but still it doesn't last long. i feel like every hour I'm using them.

For me, it took months to get used to my contacts. Maybe 6 months or so and then all of a sudden my eyes weren't bothered by them. I remember asking others if they had the same problem and no one did. I thought there was something wrong with me. I've been wearing contacts for years now and prefer them over my glasses. If you are really miserable, try a different brand. Although, for me, that didn't work. Just time and patience.

What kind of contacts are you using? You may want to try Acuvue Oasys or O2 Optix.

Maybe you didnt get the right type of contact lenses.
I have sensitive eyes too and when I first got my contacts I asked them which would be best for me, mine are "Breathable" lenses and they work great.
I take mine out and rewet them with solution and it lasts all day.

Good luck, try talking to your eye dr.

hi go back to were you purchased your lenses explain you aint happy most places are usually very helpful and will change them.

i suffer from extremley dry eyes and find that air optix or 02 optix as they used to be called are great but i always carry eye drops to pop in if they get sore

good luck

This depends from person to person. My eyes personally are very watery so the contacts were always kept damp and lubricated. The eye drops you have re-lubricate your lenses for a more comfortable feel, and you are right it doesn`t last that long. You may have to go back to your eye doctor to see what is happening. Before you go though make sure your contacts have been in your eyes 2 hours prior to your eye exam. That way he/she will be able to tell if the lenses you have are right for you. It may be that your contacts are not letting your eyes breathe. Therefore they dry up and cause irritation. So like I said make an appointment with your eye doctor so he/she can consider a different lense for you! The more you pay the better your contacts will be though so keep that in mind. To give you an idea mine cost 120$ Canadian for a period of 6 months. What you can do in the mean time is taking your contacts out every 3- 4 hours to give your eyes a rest. Re-soak them in their container for 15 mintues and then put them back in again. Hope this helped you out somewhat!

i got contacts like 2 year ago and from the very first day my eyes felt perfectly fine....def not dry. what kind r u using? try acuve oaysis they are amazing and my eyes are NEVER dry!!!! unless u have astigmatism u can def try acuvue oaysis!!

Maybe you dont have the right contact brand.. try Acuvue Advance! they are the best for dry eyes! ask your doctor to give you a trial pair of these! you'll love them! no more dry eyes! =]good luck!
or if you do have acuvue advance, hmm idk..use a different brand, tell your doctor that your eyes got dry.. or u could use some solution, and put a few drops in each eye, that will make your eyes moist..
GOOD LUCK!
