Wearing your glasses all the time will not cause your vision to deteriorate any more rapidly than it would normally. If you do choose to wear your glasses all the time, your eyes will become accustomed to seeing clearly, and when you are not wearing your glasses you may experience headaches or blurry vision. This does not mean the glasses are hurting you in any way, but just that you are getting used to being able to see clearly. I also wear glasses and really only need them for distance, but have begun wearing them all the time. My advice: put them on and keep them on!

You won't make your sight any worse with them. Instead of your eyes straining to do all the work, your glasses will do it for you. That will lessen your eye fatigue, blurry vision, and any headaches you might be having.

If you only need them for distance, wearing your glasses for close up work can actually strain the eye muscles and make it more difficult to read with them on. Ask your doctor if you should remove them for all close up work or if it's ok to keep them on.

I only need them for distance as well. My dr actually turned on of the lenses so I can read with them on. I actually need to go and get new ones cause my perscription changed for the better. He told me to wear them when needed but if comfortable with them on to read then to it.

If your near vision is good, and you do not feel eye strain when reading or normal activity....it is fine to just wear your glasses when driving, or when you want to see distance clearly....example concerts....it will not harm your eyes if you wear your glasses all of the time, but it will put more wear and tear on your glasses. It is really up to you, whichever you are more comfortable with.
