Do i need a special prescription for colored contact lenses?!

Question: 4 months ago, I got contact lenses. I bought a 6-months supply of boxes of contact lenses and I have my perscription on each box.

SO, what i was wondering was: could I just go ahead and order colored contacts online without a doctors consent or anything? would this be alright?

Technically, yes. It would be in your best interests to call the Doc and make sure it would be okay to do that- reason being, I used to work with a Doctor that kept an article about a 16 yrs old that had bought color contacts black market on her own, without a prescription. because the fit was totally wrong, tis poor kid lost one eye and nearly went blind in the other. Any questions?

Contact lens prescriptions are good for a year. Order online and give them the contact information for your doctor. As long as you have the current prescription, you'll be fine to order colored contacts.

If you have a valid prescription for contacts you do not need to get another one. Just remember, like a prescription for any doctor prescribed item, that prescription will expire.

It's recommended you go into your doctor for colored lenses. First off, they have free samples that you try so you know you will like the color before you buy them. Also, it's important to find if you will be able to adjust to the lenses. Colored lenses feel like they reduce your field of vision at first due to the blocks of color they are printed with.
