Eye problems, call the doc or wait and see?!

Question: Wednesday I changed the contact in my right eye. Thursday and friday I woke up with my right eye crusted shut. the stuff had a yellowish look to it. it did not itch thursday but today it does itch and there seems to be a little drainage. the eye is not pink or red. the eye itself looks fine.

btw, i wear night and day contacts so i sleep in them.

It can still be a bacterial infection that will require eye drops. Go see your doctor. It sounds like when you took your old contacts out and put the new ones in, you may have picked up bacteria (even if you washed your hands real good).

I wear Night and Day too, and my eye doctor told me that the less you handle the contacts, the better. So, yeah, leave them in all the time. However, handling the contacts is when you become most vulnerable.

Anyway, go see your eye doctor. Get some meds. You don't want to damage your eyesight.

It sounds like you could be developing pink eye. And if you wait, you may not be able to see.

Okay, that was a bad joke. I'm sorry.

it may be serious or it may not, but go see your doctor

.You have some type of infection going on. I suggest you remove both contacts and call your optician, he or she should be able to give you instruction over the phone or see you to be treated. It really sounds like conjuctivitus. Best of luck.
