Why do my contacts turn my eyes red?!

Question: It depends on the brand you are using, or the solution your are using, as well as the length of time that they are in your eyes. Possibly there might be protein deposits in your contact that isnt coming off when you clean them with the cleanser you are using. Or simply, you may be allergic to the brand of contact or solution you are using. I had to swtitch to Acuvue Oasis, as other brands were making my eyes red. These allow for my eyes to "breathe" better. Check with your doc to see if you can sample other brands of contacts.

when? when you first put them in? when you leave it in for a long time? or is it red all the time?

it could be for various reasons. Maybe your eyes aren't getting enough oxygen if you leave them in for a long period of time. If you just put them in, maybe they dont fit on your eye correctly, if its all the time then go to your eye doctor and have her check it out, maybe your eye just isnt comfortable with it in there and is rejecting it... or maybe youre using a contact solution that is bothering your eyes.

they could be old. you could need to clean the case you keep them in. or it could be an allergic reaction.
