Yes, but get them in solution as quick as you can! My eye doctor told me that if you need to take a contact out and don't have solution, that water will work for a short time as a quick fix.

My eye doctor told me that storing contact lenses in water will ruin them and that you should never EVER submerge them in water! always keep a small bottle of solution with you in your purse or back pack. it is also a good idea to carry eye drops if your lens is irritating you.

no becuse water is not clean and there is bacteria in water!

If you absolutely have to do that, you must make sure it is sterile water, not plain tap water. It should be fine for a short period like that, as long as you get it into some solution asap. I had to do this at work once myself, luckily i at least had a case...just no solution. I don't know what to tell you though as far as what to store it in, since you don't have a case. Whatever it is needs to be extremely clean.

No, because the water will harm the contact and it will not be clean again. There are lots of viruses and stuff in water that will permanantly damage your contacts so unless you're gonna throw it away never get it near water. If you have eye drops or something use it, rest your eyes a bit and hope its gets better!

Not a great idea! Water i filled with so much bacteria you can't see so imagine that in your eye! But if it really bugs you, then go for it but don't do this constantly. This happened to me at school, it fell out when i was blinking and i had no eyedrops or case so i had to use water.
