. I wear glasses but I still only have 20/20 vision in my right eye and 20/40 vision in my left eye. I was born with amblyopia. My mum actually said to me one day "I wish I could afford to give you laser/lazy/lasik (not sure what she said) eye surgery. I don't ind wearing glasses but It would be good to have surgery to correct it but then as you say, if you dont have surgery, you are safe because you dont risk having one eye. But if you DO have surgery you risk the success.

It would be nice to have normal eyes.

I was born with amblyopia and have worn glasses all my life. I will still need glasses for the rest of my life unless I have surgery.

Do you have a degree in medicine
i did not for one moment you can ask so many
BUT TELL ME WHAT HOSPITAL
I WILL NEVER WANT TO PUMP
MY bump me self off in your hands
I RATHER DRINK SOCRATES POISON
GIRL AT LEAST THERE IS AN ATIDOTE OR IS IT TOTE BAG
cleo will you call me an abulance !! FORGET THE M&M
we will eat them on the ride to radio city !!

I don't know. I've had laser surgery for glaucoma, but they were a breeze. Actual eye surgery is different. I've thought about lasik treatments, but I've been wearing glasses for so long I'd be lost without them. I might if my sight depended on it.

Yes I would

Is this just a poll?

There is no surgery that will improve sight in adult amblyopia.

If you have strabismus as well as amblyopia, there is surgery to improve your cosmetic appearance but it won't improve sight either.

I have it too, but I have to patch. I don't think I would do that. Too risky. But if you can see out of that eye, then maybe you can get glasses if you don't have them already.
