What is this THING growing in my friend's eye???!
Question: My friend has this thing sticking out of the white of her eye--it's like a little pearl, it's 3-dimensional, and about 3mm in diameter. She doesn't notice it and it doesn't hurt. She's going to the eye doctor in a few days, but it's kind of an unsettling thing. Anyone know what it could be?

It sounds like a pinguecula. Google it to see some photos. Pingueculae are benign growths on the white of the eye that don't usually cause any symptoms (but may cause some dry and red eye). They are due to cumulative UV exposure.
Good idea to get it looked at - hard to diagnose without actually seeing it, but sounds like nothing serious.
It could actually be a wart. I had a friend that had to get one removed from the white of his eye. I know, a wart on an eye????? That was the same reaction I had when he told me what it was, and I am in the medical profession.
my friend has something like that but its kinda near her pupil and it white and small but u can see it i say he take a needle and poke it out and it work and now she doesn't got it no more
