Yes, it is highly contagious. Make sure that you wash your hands often, and don't let anything that your children have touched come in contact with your face. Wash all of their linens in hot water.

Sounds like the viral kind - watery discharge. My daughter had it last week. At the drugstore, I found these drops called "pink eye relief" from Similasan. I used those on my daughter for three days, and her symptoms cleared up.

BTW - a doctor will not be able to prescribe drops for viral pink eye - only for bacterial.

Yes, adults can get pinkeye.

yes...

Any one can get pink eye

yes, anyone can get pinkeye

Yep

YES. But adults are more able to remember to wash their hands thoroughly. When pink eye is in the house, you need to increase your laundry loads and buy a ton of purell hand santitizer to carry around in your pocket. Keep little hands away from eyeballs and all that.

Yes, unfortunately. I got it from my daughter. It's very infectious, so wash your hands alot and try not to touch your face.

YES, go to your doctor to get special eye drops and dont rub your other eye or it can also get infected

Without a doubt! Wash your hands a lot and keep them off your face or around your while handling the kids.

Yep!! I just had it in Dec.!
Went to the Dr. and he said it was viral so he couldn't give me anything for it, but to watch and make sure I didn't give it to the kids, because remember pink eye is contagious!
He also told me to throw out my current pair of contact lenses and not to wear any for a week.
Thankfully within a week it all cleared up.
But I know that when my kids had it before, they gave us ointment for them.
Also a warm wet wash cloth helps with the crusting.
Always try to wipe away from the inner eye tear duct and wipe down rather than across to keep from spreading it. Don't spread it from eye to eye. Use a different wash cloth for each eye and don't reuse it once you've gotten the crust out, just put it straight to the laundry.
Since your kids both have it, you need to be diligent about them hand washing and yourself as well!
Good luck!
