Hi!

It's impossible to tell what the bump is without actually examining the eye. It could be incomplete removal of the "stye." But, more likely, it is just induration and swelling resulting from the manipulation during surgery.

It's only been 4 days.... give it time. Even if you go back to your ophthalmologist at this point, I doubt if he or she will consider any intervention at this point since this "bump" will most likely just resolve on its own with time (a week or two). Follow the post-op instructions your were given. :)

Just make sure that it isn't infected! Clues to an infected site: severe pain, tenderness, and redness and/or a purulent discharge. If you have any of these, then call your doctor.

a stye?

It sounds like you still have some pus in the stye, does it still hurt? If it does, I suggest you go back to the doctor and have him check it out before it starts to grow again.

you really should go back to your Eye Doctor for a follow up!
