I'm seeing red and blue dots at night sometimes?!

Question: I know this sounds crazy at first, but it's not a big deal, just something I've been wondering about. Sometimes, at night, when I focus on a certain area, I start to see red and blue dots (only those colors) multiplying, then it vanishes and a new 'wave' comes up. They appear even when I close my eyes. Most nights I don't get them, and it seems like the more I think about them at night, the more often they appear. I don't see them during the day. My eyes have ok vision, I go on the computer a lot but I don't need glasses as far as I know.

After searching this up on other answers, it's either floaters, some problem, or something everyone gets, and I'm actually quite confused.

Actually I've see that before, but for me it's not just at night. It happens when you really focus and stare at a certain spot. Sorry I don't know what it is exactly... but as far as I know, my eyesight is really good, so I don't think it's a major problem or anything. I'm not sure, though.

I just looked up floaters and read a bit about them. I guess you don't have a serious problem unless your eyes start to hurt. I read that they come and go sometimes, too.

I dunno, I still do. When I was a kid I use to lay there and just watch it.

It could be migraine aura(sp?). Also, could be a side-effect of a medication you're taking.
The only way to know for sure is to mention it to your doctor the next time you go.
