I've been blind since birth with very little residual vision. When I dream, I see things the way they appear to me... Blurry and lacking in detail and very difficult to make out.. But since they came out of my own head I know what they are even when I can't see them. My boyfriend has been completely blind since infancy and he dreams with sound and touch and all his other sences, but even if he can't see or touch something in his dream he usually knows it's there.

of course they dream you can see stuff and places in your head that youve never seen in real live before cant you its the same for blind people. i think

I read an article discussing this very topic not too long ago.Thousands of people who were blind at birth stated that they dreamt. It's a little different however... they dream in sound. That's how most blind people tell what's going on around them, through other senses. So if a blind woman dreams about her mother cooking. She might hear dishes clanking, water boiling etc. She may actually smell the food. i read an account of a blind woman recounting a dreamt hat she had. She said that she was at the dinner table with her sister and brother in law. She could smell the food, hear the clanking of silverware, hear peole chewing and hear people discussing their day. At one point in the dream, her brother-in-law got really mad and left the room.
If a person is born with vision, and loses it later in life, they continure to dream visually, but as time moves on they ay that auditory sensation takes over.

I have heard that blind people can dream about things like lights and things like that but not actual objects or people and what they look like etc. It's amazing how a blind person has such amazing sense of hearing, smell and touch so I guess they dream about hearing and tasting etc. Their other senses must be so good to make up for the lack of eye sight I suppose x
