Does being hungry and/or thirsty effect your eyes?!


Question: I ask this because right now my eyes hurt pretty bad and the only reason I can think why is because I am hungry and thirsty !!

yes, it can. If you are hungry, your blood sugar may be too low and that can have a serious impact on your vision. Also, being dehydrated will negatively affect your vision because our bodies, eyes included, are made up mostly of water! So go grab a snack and a tall glass of water!

if you are becoming dehydrated then iot can affect your eyes, the effects are usually temporary and can be reasily rectified by drinking more water. de hrydration affects lots of processes int he body. quite often we feel hungry when we really are thirsty.. thats one of the 'tricks' some dieticians recommend.. drink more water to suppress hunger messages.

I guess it can as hunger and thirst can cause headaches, nausea, dizziness and trembling. Still, if you have this eye pain regularly or again in the future I would advise you to see an optician or an eye doctor sweetie. Hope your eyes feel better soon and get something to eat! xx

Yes it does, my dad won't eat his dinner as he a fussy eater and now 8st in weight. His eyes gets red and dry.
