What are signs I need reading glasses?!

Question: I have good eyesight, but lately it's been hard to read a book- I have to put it a bit farther so I can see it. I can't see up close much because the letters blur together.

Sometimes I have to squint because I can't read something properly, and at times my eyes just hurt.

Is it just tired eyes? I DO go on the computer and watch tv but not so much. But this hasn't happened before, it's been happening lately.

When people say they have good eyesight they usually means for distance. It's easily possible to have the eagle eyes of a sharpshooter over a distance, but need help with close work.

Also, you don't have to be old. Young people who are only slightly farsighted can find it uncomfortable to read when they are tired.

Definitely get an eye test. It's a good idea for everyone, but becomes a must if you notice any discomfort. Why suffer?

You should go to an opometrists as soon as you think there may be something wrong with your vision! a visit won't hurt.

just go to the eye doctor it sounds like you need glasses and even if you dont you can still go get checked at the eye doctor!! I do it all the time and have never needed glasses!

Presbyobia-a visual condition which becomes apparent especially in middle age and in which loss of elasticity of the lens of the eye causes defective accommodation and inability to focus sharply for near vision.
Basically your arm is becoming not long enough. If you wear glasses currnetly then it may be time for a pair of multi focal lenses. If you don't wear glasses then it may be as simple as needing a pair of readng glasses. Best way to tell is to contact your optometrist and schedule an appointment and he will help you make the best decision for your needs. Best of luck to you!
